Floorcloth Instruction Books
Making a floorcloth isn't as hard as you might think if you start out using the right instructions. There are several good books with complete instructions that can guide you through the entire process. Most of them come with patterns to use.
You can find them all across the world wide web for quick purchases, but you will also find them at several outlets that specialize in crafting, craft supplies and specialty shops.
When looking for your first project to do, you might want to start out with a simple project. I often suggest a place-mat or mug mat. This does not mean you should limit yourself to small project books. It does not take long before you want to tackle a larger sized floorcloth.
If you are a crafter who is always looking for a bit of a specialty item to sell at craft fairs, think about adding a few floorcloth mug mats or table center mats. They are a hit every time and sell like little hotcakes. The ones that really sell the best are those which depict a local scene. It may be a historical old flour mill or some other local attraction. Others that sell well are bright, cheery floral boarders with a designated area in the middle to set a vase of flowers. Which ever you choose to make, be sure to bind it well and coat the project properly for years of usage.

Fun Kid Craft
When an old sheet gets to the point you can't use it any more, cut out the best part and let the kids use it as their canvas. Once the paintings have dried you can easily bind their work to a canvas backing using fusible fabric. Make sure the backing is nice and stiff and you wont need a frame. Add a nice ribbon or jute robe to hang it. Kids love this type of craft and enjoy seeing it hung too.
